RGB light
The colour of light is one of the five factors affecting lighting. Depending on its color, we are able to group the light in monochromatic light, white light or RGB light. Each of these three groups will contribute with different characteristics that we will have to take advantage of for inspecting the objects.
What is RGB light?
The RGB color model is based on additive synthesis (that system in which, the three primary colors altogether produce a white color). With this synthesis it is possible to represent a color by admixture of the three primary light colors red, green and blue. Normally used in monochrome cameras, to change the contrasts between colors, or RGB cameras to generate structured light colored, very useful in cases of weld inspection or to adjust colour temperatures.
In DCM Sistemes, we identify the RGB* lighting systems as follows:
Icon | Colour | Wavelength | Code |
---|---|---|---|

RGB | _ | RGB |

And, RGB light applied to vision? Which are the advantages?
The changes in production line and the need of more versatile systems can be covered with RGB lighting systems, which provide suitable flexibility to switch tasks and easily integrate the mechanical, physical and electronic aspects on a vision system.
What does RGB light means in DCM Sistemes lights?
In DCM Sistemes we refer to RGBS lighting systems, when they can be configured to emit light in any of the three primary colors, and therefore, almost in any color of the visible spectrum.
They are much more versatile than monochrome lights, because color can be easily adapted to the requirements of the application. It is configured through the DCM Sistemes Control Manager and need a VSC3000B strobe controller for changing the working parameters.
